OK. Apologies to Ayn Rand.
When I can’t help control anything in my out-of-control life, I divert. Like I move furniture around. Or in yesterday’s case, head to the bookstore at 5PM with the excuse of buying summer reading for Boy Wonder. He got his one book, and I, well, I got a few more than one. Including Atlas Shrugged … a suggested reading by one Brian Block.
Wiki describes the book in these terms: …. the strike as “stopping the motor of the world” by withdrawing the “minds” that drive society’s growth and productivity; with their strike these creative minds hope to demonstrate that the economy and society would collapse without the profit motive and the efforts of the rational and productive.
While Realtors can’t go on strike, they can take advantage of the opportunity to ‘co-op their minds’ to create bigger and better things for themselves. By working more efficiently and exchanging the information necessary in a timely fashion, not only are the clients happier, but also ease the frustration of the co-op agent.
When I read in my emails the frustrations of agents that are not getting the feedback or details necessary to move on in the transaction, it drives me nuts! We have to be ‘rational and productive’. There are some fabulous Realtors out there that want nothing more than to close the deal and work so very hard to ensure that the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed. Then there are the few that, quite frankly, make the rest of us look like fools.
Phew. Got that off of my chest. Time to go back to the deck and read some more. Pardon the interruption. You can now resume your summer reading.
