When I grow up I want to be an astronaut and live in outer space. Or, as my brother used to sing on a regular basis (and lo and behold he IS), “I want to be an Airborne Ranger; live my life in the face of danger.”
I didn’t know at twenty what I wanted to do. At thirty I was doing what I am still doing…raising four kids….since I’ve discovered that unlike the promise of ‘turning eighteen and moving away’, that they just sort of stay with you forever be it emotionally or physically. Now I’m a sleek, svelte, tanned, fit young woman forty-something, and I’ve been involoved in real estate in one fashion or another for over ten years.
Over those ten years the patterns of ‘becoming a Realtor’ have changed dramatically. No more is the typical new associate fresh off of the high school/college boat or the recently ‘freed’ mother with kids in school full-time. We have diverse backgrounds of marketing, communications, public relations…great spheres of influence that enable us to fully embrace our new career as Realtor Extraordinaire.
One of our recent newer associates, Roy Kohn, recently posted a terrific piece on what becoming a Realtor is all about. You can read all about it here.
Are you interested in becoming a Realtor? Want to be taught be one of the best? Brian Block recently finished up his first set of classes and will be starting again shortly. Find out what you need to know and contact Brian here.
I’m going to continue trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. But I am really, really enjoying where I am right now. It fits my skin.
